Womancon is a women’s entrepreneurship media and content company that offers women entrepreneurs the tools, resources, relationship building and inspiration needed to effectively start, grow and thrive as business owners.  Womancon brings together experts from a variety of disciplines to provide actionable advice to the women’s entrepreneurial community.  In 2016, we will be hosting the fourth annual womancon2015 conference on October 6, 2016 in NYC. Colleen DeBaise is a journalist and author covering entrepreneurship. She is the founder of the Hampton Bee, an online publication covering the business community of Long Island’s East End. She’s also a contributor to The Story Exchange, a nonprofit media organization devoted to women business owners.

Prior to her current roles, Colleen was the small business editor at The Wall Street Journal, and has served as an editor at Entrepreneur, BusinessWeek and SmartMoney. She has been a contributor to a variety of publications, including The New York Times, Huffington Post and Inc. Magazine. She is the author of The Wall Street Journal Complete Small Business Guidebook.

Andrew Boardman is a designer and founder of Manoverboard, a purpose-driven design firm providing digital tools and strategies to principled businesses and organizations. The company is based in Winnipeg, Canada and was founded in 2002 in Brooklyn. Manoverboard has worked with Generation Investment Management (Vice President Al Gore’s investment firm), NRDC, Acumen Fund, EQ3, University of Manitoba, and MIT. Andrew is a graduate of Brown University and SUNY Albany.

Laura Leites, Founder and Producer

In addition to founding Womancon, Laura Leites plans and manages events for clients through LauraLeites026-SMher company, L2 Event Production.

Through L2 Event Production, Laura has been planning and executing events geared toward small business owners for years. Her projects include JW Insights 2015, TabTimes and TabletBiz, Small Business Influencer Awards , Crowdopolis NYC 2013, the first annual Zoho User Conference 2012, and many of SmallBizTechnology’s live and virtual events, as well as  The Small Business Summit and Smallbiztechnology.com’s five-city Small Business Technology Tour (both sold in January 2013 to BlogWorld NMX).

Laura serves on the Board of Directors of the LifeWorx Foundation and lives in the NYC area with her husband and three children.

Through her marketing consulting company, KMS Group, Adrienne helps small and mid-sized women businesses create, grow and sustain effective and cohesive marketing strategies and plans that drive profitable growth.

Adrienne is an adaptable and dependable thought leader who thrives in challenging, pressure-filled environments and excels at connecting people to build their businesses and promote loyalty. Her track record of increasing revenues, driving new market penetration, and generating significant cost savings through leveraging strategic marketing tools and resources has made her a sought-after expert, speaker and panel moderator. Adrienne has interviewed women of the C-Suite, moderated social media roundtable discussions, participated as a panelist for career transition discussions for New York University and St. John’s University students, guest lectured at Nassau Community College and hosted an HDTV infomercial.

Adrienne holds her MBA in Marketing, with a concentration in Entertainment, Media and Technology from the Stern School of Business at New York University.  She resides in Sea Cliff, New York with her husband, two children and newfoundland, Shamu.
